4.6.2.35.1 DCA - STE/ICE interfaces. Upon completion of inspection
and tests specified in 4.6.2.35, test the DCA for all measurements
specified in 3.41 using STE/ICE, After completion of first article
testing, this test shall be repeated and the results compared to the
first test (see 4.3.2). Nonconformance to 3.41 or failure of any
componentry or wiring in the DCA harness, which results in inability
to obtain the measurements previously recorded with the STE/ICE,
shall constitute failure of this test.
4.6.2.36 Load moment indicator. Test the crane in accordance with
test method No. 31. Nonconformance to 3.13.7 shall constitute failure
of this test.
4.6.2.37 Crane structure. The crane shall be tested in accordance
with SAE J1063 or certification with supporting data shall be
provided by the contractor to the Government at the time of first
article test to certify conformance to SAE J1063. Nonconformance to
3.1.4 shall constitute failure of this test. Certification with
supporting data shall be provided to illustrate chain/cable
conformance with 3.13.2 and wire rope conformance with 3.13.5.
Nonconformance to 3.13.2 or 3.13.5 shall constitute failure of this
test.
4.6.2.38 Boom extension speed, retraction speed, extension cylinder
cavitation and simultaneous hoist and boom extension The crane boom

shall be tested in accordance with test method No 28. Nonconformance

to 3.9.7 or 3.13.8 shall constitute failure of this test.
4.6.2.39 Swing speed, swing lock, swing brake, and anti two

blocking. Test the crane in accordance with test method No. 32.
Nonconformance to 3.13, 3.13.1 or 3.13.2 shall constitute failure of
this test.
4.6.2.40 Heater. The heater shall be tested in accordance with SAE
J1129. Nonconformance to 3.27.4 shall constitute failure of this
test.
4.7 Inspection comparison. The Government may select cranes at any
time during the contract production period and subject these cranes
to the examination specified in 4.6.1 and column 1 of table II, and
to the tests marked "X" in column 1 of table III to determine
conformance to the requirements of this specification. The inspection
will be performed by the Government, at a site selected by the
Government, on units selected at random from those which have been
accepted by the Government and will not include the previously
inspected initial production crane. In addition to any test specified
as part of the inspection comparison, the Government reserves the
right to conduct any and all other tests contained in this
specification as part of the inspection comparison and failure of
such additional tests shall have the same effect as failure of those
tests specified as inspection comparison.
4.7.1 Inspection failure. Failure of an inspection comparison crane
to meet any requirement specified herein during and as a result of
